International Photocross, an annual Photography competition, is organized by RBIM (Russian- British Institute of Management), Chelyabinsk, Russia for the students from various countries like Russia, UK, Kazakhstan and India. In this competition, ICAT students have been participating enthusiastically every year.
The competition is conducted every year on a particular date, on which a set of ten topics is given to the registered teams and the teams should submit 10 photographs corresponding to each topic, by the end of the same day. This year (2015), the theme was to shoot for the covers of popular novels by renowned authors.
As much as 21 teams across the globe participated in the competition, among which, the teams from ICAT won several topics as well as the overall ranking.
Following are the topics that were won by the ICAT students:

Apart from winning the above titles, ICAT has also won the overall 1st place through the diligent efforts by the team “Eye level” (Sourim Pal, Sourav Pal and Kiran Pal of I & II yr UG Visual Effects). They had scored an amassing 295 out of 400 points to top the competition — scoring 30 points more than the I Runners up. It is worth mentioning here that ICAT students had won the 1st place 3rd International Photocross 2013 as well.
Though the team, “Eye Level” did not win any individual topic, they maintained a consistent “Film Noir” style across all the photographs submitted, which was very much appreciated by the International Jury.
The other ICAT team that did well in the overall rating is the “Lazy Lens” (Aswathi NM, Badal Pithadiya and Sravan Chandran) with 241 points. They stood at the 5th position separated by 4 Russian teams from the toppers.
The winners’ photographs were displayed in an exhibition and were awarded with certificates and books on photography.
