Gamehack 2015, a game development competition presented by Reliance Games was conducted at the Hotel Sea Shell, Anna Nagar, Chennai on 31st of January, 2015. Around 50 teams, including Indies and Student teams [VB1] from different colleges participated in the competition. From ICAT, Chennai, 6 teams and 3 individuals pitched in their game concepts.
ICAT PG-Game Design student, Mr.Sudhan (2014 - 2015) won the Second prize for his game ‘Black Hole’, which is based on gravity. He was rewarded a cash prize of Rs.5,000/- and was invited to attend the next level of the competition[VB2] , which will be held at Bangalore.
ICAT II Year UG students’ team named ‘The Muffin Men’ got their game shortlisted for the next level of concept pitch. The team (Mr. N.S.Indrajith (GMD), Mr.Gokul Raj (GMD), Mr.Jayanth (GMD), Mr.Shivraman (3DA) & Mr.Anfin Jose (GDS)) created a game called ’Fray’, which is a multi-platform, action-adventure game targeted for iOS, Android and Windows smart devices. This team that developed ‘Fray’ has been shortlisted along with four other teams and were given an opportunity to present their games to the audience. They had also got a chance to showcase their games at the Reliance’s ‘Pocket Gamer Connect’, a leading Global Mobile Games Show to be held at Bangalore on 15th and 16th of April, 2015. The team that wins the final event will receive a cash price of Rs. 1 Lakh and the winning game will be published by Reliance Games.
